Andrology Laboratory

Professor DJ Handelsman Director, ANZAC Research Institute and Head, Andrology Laboratory Professor David Handelsman is a leading international authority on androgen pharmacology and Andrology (male reproductive health, medicine and biology). He wrote 3 chapters in the leading European textbook and 2 chapters in the international primary reference textbook of Endocrinology on various aspects of clinical pharmacology of androgens. Member, Scientific Committee for 1st (1990) and 2nd (1995) International Androgen Workshop (WHO/NIH/CONRAD). Served maximum two terms on WHO Human Reproduction Programme”s Male Task Force (1988-94). Awarded Susman Prize of the RACP (1994). Associate Member, Australian Drug Evaluation Committee (1994-8). First Professor of Andrology in Australia (1997). Secretary, International Socity of Andrology (1997-2001). Chaired the Endocrine Society of Australia”s Writing Committee which created 1st national guidelines independent of pharmaceutical industry and endorsed as current PBS guidelines for androgen prescribing.

The Andrology group is a collaboration of the Andrology Laboratory at the ANZAC Research and the Department of Andrology at Concord Hospital.
