ANZAC Research Institute

Opportunities

The ANZAC Research Institute now provides a research home to nearly 120 scientists within 9 research group, all working closely with affiliated departments of Concord Reparation and Genera Hospital.

The Institute opened in 2000 and by 2003 had established 4 major research groups: Andrology, Biogerontology, Bone Biology and Neurobiology. Subsequently, four additional research areas have been established, Vascular Biology, Cancer Pharmacology, the Concord Health and Ageing in Men Project – CHAMP and, the Australian Vietnam Veteran’s Health Study. In 2007 the Burns Research laboratory, headed by Dr Peter Maitz, became our ninth research group.

Attracting top scientists and students to undertake medical research training is a key element  of our mission and goals. We aim to co-ordinate the highest quality innovative research at all levels from public and population health, to clinical research, molecular physiology (animal models) as well as cell and molecular biology.

To do this, different levels of opportunities exist within the Institutes structure, these being:

  • Career opportunites as full time members of the Institutes staff, more details here.
  • Post Graduate Opportunities, more details here.
  • The Summer Scholarship Scheme, more details here.
