Dr Caroline Reddel completed her PhD in 2009 at the University of Sydney (School of Molecular and Microbial Biosciences, Weiss group). This work was in the field of matrix biology, on the subject of "Tropoelastin interactions with airway smooth muscle cells".
In 2009, she was employed as a postdoctoral scientist in the Vascular Biology group. Her research interests include thrombosis and platelet activation in the context of various thrombotic conditions, especially coronary artery disease. A central method for her work has been the Overall Haemostatic Potential assay, a new global assay measuring fibrin generation and fibrinolysis in plasma.
